Low Voltage Cable
Low Voltage (LV) cables are manufactured in copper or aluminium, and are generally rated up to 0.6/1 kV. They are mainly used in electricity distribution for interior or exterior installations that are generally located closest to the end user. Their manufacture can be completed with solid or stranded wires and can be compacted to shape, with rounded or sectored insulated cores. The sizes range from 1.5 mm² up to 1,000 mm² per core, and a cable may contain from 1 to 4 insulated cores. A diverse array of polymers and protectors can also be added during the manufacturing process, according to project requirements.
Medium and High Voltage Cable
Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) cables are manufactured in copper or aluminium, and are generally rated from 3.6kV up to 145kV. They are mainly used in electrical network distribution, industrial installations, wind farms, photovoltaic and solar energy plants, power stations, and transformer sub-stations. Their manufacture is completed with compacted stranded wires, in a round insulated core. The sizes range from 16 mm² up to 1,200 mm² per core, and a cable may contain from 1 to 3 insulated cores. A diverse array of polymers and protectors can also be added during the manufacturing process, according to project requirements.
Aerial and OPGW Cable
Aerial Bundled Cables (ABC) are overhead power lines that combine several insulated conductors bundled tightly together, usually with a bare neutral conductor. Bare overhead conductor is commonly used in Australia. Generally of Aluminium construction and available in AAC, AAAC, ACSR/AC and ACSR/GZ configurations. Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) is a type of cable manufactured from steel and aluminium strands which encompass a tubular structure containing optical fibres.
